Night 126

Hi and welcome back!

When I woke up this morning I felt a bump on the back of my head, which I realized was a tick. For the rest of the day I felt like there were ticks on me. It was not a good feeling.

Dark Skies
Today just Maisy and I hiked, and instead of going to the pond we went all of the way up the hill. When we got into the woods I felt like I was someplace other than the woods, because everything was so green. Once we were on top I saw that there is now an "R" along with the double "L" on the tree. Mom must have been up there recently.

Right now we're in the middle of a really bad thunderstorm. Mom is trying to convince me to stay in, but I'm going to get this posted and head outside. I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks for reading!

  1. Dear L.R.C -

I am passionate hiker and mountaineer living in Los Angeles, California. Just read your 100+ blog posts today with great enthusiasm. I would like congratulate you for this challenging project - and wish you luck for the upcoming days. Being an avid adventurer, I will definitely tell about this interesting project to my kids (whenever I have). This is really awesome – since it not only tests your physical strength but also your character. You should try climbing Mt. Whitney sometime? That’s my favorite mountain, will make my second ascent in few days. May be you should have a Facebook page ‘The Kid in the Tent’ – more people should know about your project.

    1. Thanks for the comment and for reading all my posts! I can't wait to hear about your Whitney climb. We need to figure out how you can send me pictures that I can post and share with everyone. I also like your idea about a Facebook page for this project. We're going to get that going soon.

  2. Hi LRC!

Additional greetings from LA! An REI facebook page posted about your blog and I just read through the whole thing. Way to go dude! This is an awesome project. Way to have a great attitude especially when things don't go perfectly (like snow or water in your tent and frozen sleeping bags). My friends have a 6 year old who is now reading your blog daily and is super excited for a backyard campout in June. Hug your parents. Parenting: they are doing it right. :)

    1. Thanks for commenting and telling us about the REI Facebook page! We LOVE shopping for gear at REI, so it's cool that they posted something about my blog. I wonder how they found out about it!

Tell your friend that I'm excited to hear about their backyard campout in June. I'm going to get an email address set up that people can use to send me pictures of their campouts that night.

      I hope you keep reading!
